January 31 ... Flowers

The only flowers I found today ...

January 30

So, I had this great idea that I was going to have several hundred prints
ready for the grandbabies to choose from and fill their own mini albums ...
at Christmas time ...
the prints were ready, the albums were here, we just hadn't really
found the right time to get to it.  Today, we had 3 of the 5 and we began!
They didn't quite finish, but enjoyed the time they had to get started.

And this boy of mine celebrated another birthday!
When I asked him if I'd get a hug from the birthday boy,
he told me about the best he could do was wave at me
about 4:30 as he flew over the province while on his flight
between Toronto and Edmonton.  :)

I've been putting off posting for today for over two weeks.  This photo ...
my only photo for the day ... on such a significant day for our family.
We finally got our mom to move out of the house she'd been renting for about 15 years,
and into a supported housing apartment.  This has been HUGE!  This has been HARD!
This has been sad, but so, so good! Unlike the photo seems to depict, she is not restricted to
a wheelchair.  She does need the assistance of a walker though. She and I were the only ones
in her new space at this point, and when I glanced over, and saw her sitting there, in the sunshine,
looking out the window, I grabbed my phone and snapped.  I didn't look at the photo again until
 much later in the day, when I finally did,  I totally broke down.  I can only imagine all the thoughts
and feelings going on inside this very, very strong, independent lady.  For us, getting her into a more
suitable, friendly space among others has been such a relief, but it's been a tough journey for all.

Finally got around to trying the whole 'frost bubble' photography thing :)
I was pleasantly surprised at how well it worked for me.  Gotta love Youtube!!

LOL ... opened the front door
and this naked little boy was busily
playing with a building set. 
When I asked him why he had no clothes on ...
'Grandma, I just had a shower, this is the warmest
room in the house and I'm sitting in the sunshine!' :) :)

Loving the little pieces of Hazel's personality
that are starting to come out!  :)

Ahhhhh ... can't describe adequately how it makes me feel
to get out onto the trails in the trees along the Red,
especially after a day in city at appointments.
So very good for the mind and soul ...

Glad I did my outdoors and bundling up today before
the wind whipped up and the wild weather came in
