July 31

Just some explanation/apology here.  Our life right now seems to
revolve around baseball.  It's Troy's last year playing juniors,
so kind of in this space that we feel we need to/want to be there.
But ... that means alot of what I get in a day is ... baseball.
Almost done, I promise.

My view on my bike ride home from
Gretna on the Trans Canada Trail this morning.

Below was another of Troy's steals to second.  He makes it look so easy!
I cringe every time I see one of those boys go down onto the gravel!
When it was all done, he needed to empty a shoe though.

And the gorgeous sunset as we left the park after the game.

The sorry state of lots of my flowers

Troy ... pitching in the game at St. B

Troy's fan club at the game. It was really neat
to see his whole family come out to cheer him on,
even Apollo. Thanks to Lyndon for taking our
family shot.

Carla and Thea were right in there ...
cheering for Uncle Troy.

This thermometer generally shows
a degree too cool!  Too  much heat
for this lady for sure!

The skies as we were heading to
St. Boniface for the ball game

What greeted us on the drive
back down St. Mary's

Clear skies by the time we were close to home

Ryan ... up to some tricks
during the parade

Did not beat the ball this time

I love sunflowers, especially together with puffy clouds and blue skies.
This one made me smile ... someone always has to stand out in the crowd!

I found the attire for this seniors slow pitch
pitcher quite interesting ...

Safe again ... oxy clean soak for the pants AGAIN!

July 26

Carla, Thea & I walked to town to go
visit her Grandpa at work for the first time today.
Thea, sporting her battle scars
from her first needle
She seemed to handle the
effects of her needle very well.
One minute she was awake on Grandpa's lap,
and the next she was asleep.

Just some of the things you see when you
drive down the streets of Altona in the morning.

The day began very warm and foggy

Callie (Verna's granddaughter) playing
with bubbles and on the rollercoaster!

At the ball game ... and the final score was 3-0 for Altona ...

July 22 - Mom's birthday

Mom's 78th birthday ... had to take advantage of
this and take a family photo. Missing a few members,
but impressive turnout for a one-day notice get-together
at Verna & Wes's place.

My family's first four-generation picture.
My mom, myself, Jess & Thea.

Peyton  ...  one very
happy little guy

And my favorite ... Peyton taking Grandma for a walk

Verna asked Conrad to come to the corn field across the road
and check out the height of the corn. Wow!

Suzanne, Trudy, Carmelle & I went on
a Plum Coulee excursion today.
Elevator turned museum was quite interesting.

Part of an old cash register

In the 'tin' collection ...
I don't know, but ...

School children misbehaving?

Had to make the train car into a photo op

More of the same ...

Troy at bat ... with the bat suspended in midair

We were driving alongside this truck on
the way home from city ,... I never
 quite understand the desire to
have your truck lit up like a Christmas Tree.

July 18 - Catch up time!

Trying my best to capture the
multitude of colors in my
flower beds properly.

Chokecherries everywhere ...
especially on the cement pad behind the house!

Looking forward to these guys
growing and ripening.

Finally!  Got my lens
focused on Thea again!

Thea was being quite sociable this afternoon.

'Stole' a few new little
potatoes from a plant in the garden.
Going to have to have 'schmontfatt' this week!
