Raindrops and greenery

Conrad was very quick to get us a campfire going last night on arrival

August 30

    Yippee!!   Rain at last!  Besides the garden, flowers, lawn, etc., that really needed the rain, it also made for some excellent shooting conditions!

Some of you may remember another picture awhile back,
where I lucked out in getting the 'raindrop' picture.
Well ... I got another one ... but I got this one on purpose!
See the little daisies in the raindrop?  Very cool
when something you're trying to get actually works!

This was a little more difficult than similar pictures that I've had ...
this was done with extension tubes. I was probably about
3-4 inches away from this guy!

August 29

Okay ... this comes with a bit of a story again.  Conrad & I had just headed out for
our morning walk ... maybe 1-2 minutes off the driveway ... when I glanced east.
Well, there was no way I could let those colors get away. So I turned around, ran home,
snapped a few pictures, and back on the road to try to catch up with Conrad (which
took about 1 1/2 miles!).



Snapped while out on an evening drive.  So ... the wire above the plane ...
quite sure that I wouldn't want to experience its' purpose.

Learned something new today.  After looking at this picture
on my computer, realized that we do have hills in Altona!

     Brian & Carmelle were home for awhile and decided to take advantage of grass & shade ... two things that they are in rather short supply of on their new yard as of yet.  

Troy needed to get his truck washed up for his autopac appointment ... and couldn't seem to find time to do that until after dark.

Was so close to catching a spray plane in this photo as well ...
raced towards this picture for a couple of miles, but the
plane finished just before I came to stop and continued on west.

The combine and road dust just hung in the air during my drive last night.

were surprisingly unafraid of me as I sat and had my
morning coffee on a rock near where they were swimming.

Conrad caught a trophy smallmouth bass while out fishing today.

not nearly as plentiful as last year.

This was Conrad's camping version of a hot plate!

The sun came out for awhile after some showers this afternoon, and 
really loved the contrast in colors.

As you can see, we went fishing after supper and Barry won!

Seems there is a reason why this is called 'Sunset Country' ...  what a glorious night.
Fishing (though that wasn't fantastic), beautiful calm waters, loons singing ...
great conversation and good laughs ... an evening to remember!
